The 19th edition of the Robert Walters annual Salary Survey has arrived. The 2018 summary report shows professional salaries and recruitment trends from across the globe. Robert Walters Salary Survey covers 28 countries including Japan. This edition is focoused on Japanese employment trends in a dynamically growing country. It highlights a shift from traditional business practice to an emergence of specialized fields with vast skill sets.

The books comprise of analysis on global permanent, temporary, and contract placements for 2017 and the future predictions of 2018. Trends for companies included hiring professionals who were bilingual, familar and comfortable with international business practice, experience to aid in growing the Japanese economy. Specialisation also emerged as a popular trait for new employees in the workplace. Having a unqiue set of skills in HR or financial data analysis was in substantial interest for global corporations. An evergrowing tech industry in Japan has created several subsets of tech-savvy industries, such as meditech, agritech, and real estate tech. Employment has shifted to specialisation and variation in the Japanese job market.
