2019 Rugby World Cup - One Year to Go
The British Chamber of Commerce in Japan together with our Rugby Alliance partners invite you to celebrate with us at "2019 Rugby World Cup - One Year To Go".
Next year, the Rugby World Cup will be held in Japan from 20 September to 2 November 2019. The tournament will involve 20 international teams, 48 matches, and 12 host cities. It will be the first time the RWC has been held in Asia, and the first to be staged since the Rugby Sevens was recognized as an official Olympic sport in 2009. The mega event is expected to draw worldwide attention from over 200 nations, and Japan is poised to welcome over 400,000 unique visitors across 44 days.
Our "2019 Rugby World Cup One Year To Go" event is a key moment in time for community and business - both Japanese and foreign - to celebrate the potential of the RWC 2019 as a once-in-a-generation opportunity, and an agent for societal change.
