What will the 2020 Olympic & Paralympic Games bring to Japan?
July 25, 2013
On July 19, the BCCJ was very pleased to co-host an event which looked at what hosting the 2020 Olympic Games could mean for Tokyo.
With less than two months to go before the International Olympic Committee votes on September 7, we heard from Toyota Motor Corporation Honorary Chairman Fujio Cho - a vocal advocate for the Tokyo 2020 bid.
In addition to leading the world's largest automaker, Cho has actively promoted the Tokyo 2020 bid, and made a presentation to the IOC Evaluation Commission during its visit to Japan in March to voice the support of Japanese companies for the Games.
Cho discussed Tokyo's chances of being selected by the IOC, as well as the implications of hosting the Games for the Japanese business community and young people.
The event took place in the Grand Ballroom at the Grand Hyatt Hotel and was led by the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ)'s Olympic's Taskforce, and the Australia, New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ANZCCJ).
Fujio Cho is Honorary Chairman of the Board of Toyota Motor Corporation and Chairman of the Japan Sports Association. For more information:
