2014 BBA Winner Profile: Elizabeth Handover, Lumina Learning Asia (Entrepreneur of the Year)

The seventh British Business Awards were held on 14th November, 2014 at the Hilton Tokyo. Elizabeth Handover, of Lumina Learning Asia, was named as Entrepreneur of the Year.
BCCJ Entrepreneur member Lumina Learning Asia, led by Elizabeth Handover, is a key player in the Japanese training world and impressed the judges this year with their signficant growth in 2014.
They grew their client list, which includes Fortune 500 companies, significantly, certified five times as many Lumina practioners as in 2013 and ran twice as many qualification programmes - all of which impressed the BBA judging panel.
On top of that they continued to move from selling one day training courses to more comprehensive leadership programmes and expanding across APAC.
2014 also saw the launch two new products – the 360 Lumina Leader and Sales assessments and two more products are set to be launched in Japan next year. Lumina Life is designed to be an innovative coaching resource to support better physical and mental health and Lumina Select aims to be at the forefront of a new consultative approach to recruitment.
Elizabeth facilitates a broad range of management skills courses for the finance industry, including managing people and teams, influencing and political savvy, conflict management, coaching and networking. She was commissioned by the CIO Club of the pharmaceutical industry in Japan to create and run the CIO Leadership Academy, a one-year global talent development programme.
Elizabeth is certified in a number of training and coaching methods including Lumina Spark and Lumina Leader, Executive Presentation Skills, Sales Effectiveness and Organisational Coaching. She has degrees in Theatre, Drama Performance and Teaching.
