BCCJ Shinnenkai 2016
Jan. 28, 2016
BCCJ members and their guests raised a toast to the Year of the Monkey on the afternoon of January 27th 2016, when more than 65 guests gathered at the elegant Zatta Bar and Lounge of the Hilton Shinjuku Hotel.
David Bickle, President of the BCCJ, highlighted this particularly auspicious date as it marks the 90th anniversary of the great Scottish inventor John Logie Baird’s first public demonstration of television to members of the Royal Institution.
It is in the spirit of Baird's vision and innovation that the BCCJ welcomes the new year by ramping up the event platform of the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ) to bring even more high-calibre business and social events over the coming months.
The BCCJ will deliver more than 40 dynamic and informative sessions in 2016 on the hottest UK–Japan business topics, boosting members' networking opportunities with British and Japanese executives. These events will include more opportunities for exchange related to the Rugby World Cup 2019 and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The event programme will also feature a variety of VIPs visiting from the UK, and reflect themes related to the 42nd G7 summit, to be held on 26–27 May at Iseshima in Mie Prefecture.
The BCCJ continues to drive diversity and inclusion best-practice events designed to promote greater understanding of, and develop support mechanisms for, diverse groups in Japanese business.
The BCCJ wishes you all a successful and productive 2016!
